The first nanrohoe of 2023 — closing out the past year and searching for what comes next
Across 2022, seventeen nanrohoe gatherings explored, from every angle, how far Korean barbecue could travel in overseas markets — while enjoying food and conversation along the way. This session pulled all of those ideas together and turned to the question of what the 2023 nanrohoe should look like. Cho Jun-mo of Mongtan, Park Su-kyung of Geumdwaeji Sikdang, and Han Chung-hee of Geumshabba sat down with JungYoon Choi of NANRO to talk about why Korean food needs to reach further abroad. Speaking from their experience as hosts, moderators, and participants of past events, they revisited what NANRO's gatherings have meant — and asked what role NANRO should play going forward to move the Hansik industry as a whole.
NANRO had already been a gathering of not only food-industry professionals but experts from every field. Under the new branding of 'NANRO,' the group discussed a new future — one where NANRO becomes a stage for global Hansik exchange across food and drink culture as a whole. To put a wider spotlight on why now is the time to study today's trends, the movements of the global market, and the cultural stage Hansik can build within them, the business insight publication Folin joined the conversation. Folin's editors distilled the discussion into insight-packed messages, so that NANRO's global vision and introduction could reach a much broader audience through their article.
